The letter P

A good tile to get, on a par with the M. In fact, M and P go particularly well together (except perhaps in politics), like in words containing IMP and EMP: BLIMP, WIMP, HEMP, TEMPT, etc. Two-letter words with the P are:

PA father

PE a Hebrew letter

PI a Greek letter

PO a chamberpot

OP an operation

UP

Handy threes include PIX (a receptacle used in a church service), PYX (same as PIX), PAX (a sign of peace) and the less wholesome POX. There are also POZ (positive) and ZEP (a large sandwich).

PRE- is a handy prefix, especially as a PRE- word is often a hook for a RE- word. You can have:

REBIRTH and PREBIRTH

RECOOK and PRECOOK

REHEAT and PREHEAT

REDRAFT and PREDRAFT

REPRINT and PREPRINT

REFREEZE and PREFREEZE

REIMPOSE and PREIMPOSE

REVIEW and PREVIEW

On a side note, there’s a wonderful Indian English word PREPONE, to bring forward in time. They figured that if you could postpone a meeting, then you ought to be able to prepone one too.
